
Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: The abduction of a young woman, Ruby, and the brutal murder of her mother, Sunita, in Kapsad village, Meerut, has left the area in a state of shock and heightened tension. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, SSP/DIG Dr. Vipin Tada has personally taken charge of the investigation, forming a large task force of 200 police personnel divided into 10 teams. The force includes SWAT units, surveillance teams, local police stations, and senior officers. Authorities fear the main accused may have fled the state, prompting raids in western Uttar Pradesh as well as neighboring Delhi and Haryana.
Political Reactions Intensify
The incident has triggered strong political reactions. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav questioned law and order on social media, while Mayawati condemned the incident as extremely unfortunate and demanded justice for the family. The DGP’s office has also requested a detailed report from the Meerut police.
Five People, Including Accused’s Father, in Custody
The main suspect’s house has been sealed, with police suspecting family assistance in the escape. The father of the primary accused is in police custody for intense questioning. Four other individuals have also been detained, with authorities hoping to gather critical leads from them.
Police Camp Set Up in Village
To maintain law and order, police officials have established a permanent camp in Kapsad village. CO Ashutosh Kumar, Inspector Dinesh Pratap Singh, and the crime team are patrolling continuously. The strong police presence has created an atmosphere of both fear and strict control. Based on a complaint by the deceased’s son Narsi, police have registered cases against named individuals Paras Som and Sunil, as well as several unidentified persons under serious charges.
Extensive Multi-State Operations
Dr. Vipin Tada has deployed 200 officers across 10 specialized teams. Police units are conducting raids in Meerut, Saharanpur, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and other areas. Teams are reviewing CCTV footage, and local police are checking bus stands, railway stations, hotels, and lodges in coordination with officers from other districts.
Opposition Leaders to Visit Meerut
The political dimension of the case is also intensifying. Chandrashekhar, national president of the Aspa Party and MP from Nagina, has announced a visit to Meerut on Friday. Local leaders from SP, BSP, and AAP, including Sardhana MLA Atul Pradhan and former MLA Yogesh Verma, are also expected at the site. Sources indicate that the atmosphere in Kapsad village may become tense with these arrivals. Police officials, however, are fully prepared to manage the situation.
