60-Foot Trident Procession En Route to Ayodhya, Accompanied by 50 Devotees

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: A religious procession carrying a 60-foot-long steel trident has begun its journey from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh to Ayodhya, organizers said. The yatra is scheduled to reach Chaure Bazaar in Ayodhya district on February 10 after passing through major stops including Jabalpur, Kashi, and Prayagraj.

According to organizers Digvijay Singh and Amit Yogi, the procession aims to promote Sanatan traditions and religious unity. The trident, claimed to be the largest in the country, is being transported continuously with a 50-member group accompanying it around the clock.

The massive trident will be installed at a 500-year-old Shiva temple located in Rampurwa in Bikapur tehsil. The temple is known for its unique traditions, including a rotating priesthood that changes annually and a natural phenomenon in which sunlight is believed to fall directly on the Shiva idol, symbolically performing a ritual ablution.

Organizers said that after the trident reaches the temple, representatives of the procession plan to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and request that he formally install it. They expressed hope that the installation would take place under the chief minister’s presence.

Further arrangements are being coordinated with local authorities as the procession approaches Ayodhya.
