
Ayodhya: The shooting of a documentary chronicling the 500-year struggle of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, culminating in the flag hoisting ceremony at its spire by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been completed. The documentary is being produced by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, with a Pune-based TV serial production company responsible for its execution.
Post-Production to Begin Next Month
Director and producer Eknath Satpurkar stated that post-production work will commence next month, including editing, integrating scripts, music, title tracks, and devotional songs. The post-production process is expected to take around five months, and the documentary will present a comprehensive account of the temple’s long struggle and its grand construction. The finished documentary will be showcased at the International Ram Katha Museum being developed by the Trust.
Documentary to Release in Six Chapters
Satpurkar revealed that the documentary was shot on over 12 terabytes of data and will be released in six chapters, each focusing on a distinct aspect:
- Chapter One: History of the Ram Temple
- Chapter Two: The Temple Movement
- Chapter Three: Legal Battles Surrounding the Temple
- Chapter Four: Archaeological Evidence and Survey Findings
- Chapter Five: Technical Details of Temple Construction
- Chapter Six: Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla, Ram Darbar, and the Flag Hoisting Ceremony
Interviews with 170 Key Figures
The documentary includes interviews with 170 prominent individuals, including saints, mahants, politicians, volunteers (karsevaks), former ministers, senior journalists, and religious leaders. Notable interviews feature CM Yogi Adityanath, Murli Manohar Joshi, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Sadhvi Uma Bharti, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Vinay Katiyar, and family members of key activists involved in the movement.
Compact Version for Broader Audience
After the six chapters are complete, a compact version will be created, summarizing the key moments into a single cohesive story for broader viewership.
Collaboration with Renowned Musicians
To enhance its appeal and ensure an accurate yet engaging narrative, the documentary will incorporate melodious and fact-based music, created in collaboration with some of India’s most respected musicians and vocalists. The documentary promises to be a comprehensive, informative, and culturally rich tribute to the temple’s enduring legacy.
