New Delhi: This Republic Day, Rajpath will come alive with the vibrant colors and rich heritage of India. From terracotta and brass crafts to Gar dance and horse dances, from Sea Samadhi to Water Metro, and from Operation Sindoor to the “Vande Mataram” tableau, artists from across the country will showcase their unique cultural traditions.
Ahead of the grand parade, full dress rehearsals are underway at the National Rangshala Camp in Delhi Cantonment, where artists and craftsmen are putting final touches to their tableaus.
Rajalakshmi, an MA student from Tamil Nadu participating in her state’s tableau, said, “Our group arrived in Delhi on January 11. We are getting a chance to learn about the culture of different states and have made friends with many fellow artists. We practice morning, afternoon, and evening to perfect our performance.”
Vikas Gehlot, a dancer from Rajasthan’s tableau, added, “Our team of 10 has been rehearsing in Delhi since January 16. It’s an amazing experience. I’m visiting Delhi for the first time—it’s absolutely beautiful.”
Gen Z Combines Culture with Education
This year, children from Generation Z will lead the Ministry of Culture’s “Vande Mataram” tableau, while also appearing in the Ministry of Education’s presentation. Students will be seen wearing VR headsets, performing with magical props, showcasing indigenous toys, robotics, and digital labs. Shubanshi, a Class 6 student from Kendriya Vidyalaya, JNU, said, “We’ve been practicing morning and evening for almost two weeks at the camp. It’s been a great learning experience.”
States to Showcase Unique Heritage

Jammu & Kashmir will present its folk dances, Ladakh its nomadic culture, and Himachal Pradesh will depict tales of valor. Gujarat’s tableau will showcase the journey of the Indian flag, while Jharkhand will present the Dasham Waterfall, wildlife, and eco-tourism. Puducherry’s tableau will highlight eco-villages and the Aurobindo Ashram.
