2600 kg Ammonium Nitrate Seized from Faridabad Room, NIA Uncovers Terror Network Link to Al-Falah University

Faridabad, Haryana: A shocking video of a rented room in Faridabad containing 2,600 kilograms of ammonium nitrate has resurfaced. The footage, dated 9 November, shows sacks of explosives stacked inside a small, deserted room rented for just ₹1,500 per month—a day before a car blast at Red Fort claimed 15 lives.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has so far arrested six individuals, including three doctors and a religious preacher, in connection with the attack. Investigations suggest that Dr. Shaheen Shahid and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel were involved in acquiring the explosive materials and several vehicles that could be converted into improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for large-scale attacks, including a potential strike planned for 6 December, marking the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.

Additional Arrests and Investigation Details

NIA has also arrested Aamir, a resident of Pampore, Jammu & Kashmir, who allegedly assisted suicide attacker Umar-un-Nabi. Aamir reportedly played a key role in purchasing the i20 car used in the Red Fort blast. Forensic analysis is underway on vehicles linked to Dr. Umar, focusing on explosive residues, fingerprints, and digital evidence.

Authorities are investigating whether Al-Falah University-affiliated doctors helped acquire more vehicles for potential serial attacks. The network’s connections extend beyond Faridabad, reaching nearby villages and the university campus itself.

Six Arrested, Network Exposed

The six arrested include Aamir Rashid Ali and Jaseer Bilal Wani, both allegedly recruited by Umar to join as operatives for Jaish-e-Mohammed. While Wani refused to become a suicide bomber, he agreed to work as an overground operative.

The NIA traced the module after posters of Jaish-e-Mohammed appeared in Srinagar on 18–19 October, leading investigators to the preacher Irfan Ahmed, who supplied the posters. His arrest unveiled a network directly linked to Al-Falah University, where investigators seized 2,900 kg of explosives, underscoring the seriousness of the threat for security agencies.

The case continues to unfold as the NIA works to dismantle this terror network and prevent further attacks.
