Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched an investigation into a 26-year-old YouTuber from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The action follows raids conducted at multiple locations linked to him, reportedly connected to millions earned through fantasy sports platforms like Dream11.
Anurag Dwivedi, the son of a farmer from Khajur village in Nawabganj, Unnao, came under the spotlight after ED conducted simultaneous raids at his residences. Once a young boy who cycled through the village lanes, Anurag now reportedly owns multiple luxury cars and properties, and recently made headlines for his wedding on a cruise in Dubai.
Born in 1999, Anurag is the son of Laxminath Dwivedi, a former village head and local shop owner. He also has an elder sister who is married. Anurag developed a keen interest in cricket from an early age and began creating YouTube videos in 2017. By 2019, he had joined fantasy sports platforms like Dream11 and subsequently launched his own YouTube channel, focusing on cricket content. Today, he has over 7 million subscribers on YouTube and 2.4 million followers on Instagram.
Anurag has built a luxurious home in his native village and also owns property in Lucknow. Apart from earning through fantasy sports, he has promoted apps such as MPL and MyCircle, leveraging his popularity and brand collaborations to generate significant income without directly investing in the IPL.
His lavish lifestyle, including luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini, and Defender, drew public attention and were reportedly seized by the ED. His bank accounts have also been frozen as part of the ongoing investigation.
