Bhopal: The year 2026 is poised to bring significant changes to the administrative corridors of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 32 senior IAS and IPS officers are set to retire next year, including some of the state’s top bureaucrats, such as the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP).
Major Vacancies Ahead
Among the notable retirements is Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, who is set to retire in September 2026. Unless his tenure is extended, the state will need to appoint a new administrative head. The retirement of so many senior officials will create a competitive scenario for key positions including ADG Intelligence, IG Law & Order, and the Secondary Education Board. Last year, 29 officers retired, some of whom received special service extensions, including the Chief Secretary and DGP.
