20,000 Personnel to Be Deployed for Republic Day Celebrations Security

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have completed all security arrangements for the main Republic Day parade at Rajpath. Approximately 20,000 personnel, including police officers and paramilitary forces, will be deployed to ensure the event is conducted safely, peacefully, and in an orderly manner, according to Additional Commissioner of Police, Devesh Kumar Mahla.

Extensive Security Measures on Roads and Sensitive Locations
The security deployment covers Rajpath, India Gate, nearby roads, and other sensitive locations. Every individual and vehicle entering the area will be closely monitored. Around 1,000 CCTV cameras have been installed across the venue, all linked to an advanced facial recognition system (FRS).

Air Surveillance and Sniper Teams
Anti-drone teams will monitor the skies for any potential threats, while sniper teams will be stationed on high-rise buildings. Authorities are also conducting verification of guests, hotels, guesthouses, tenants, and domestic helpers in the district to preempt any suspicious activity.

Public Advisory
Police have urged all invited guests and ticket holders to carefully read the provided information and use designated entry routes only. Detailed information regarding route maps, parking, and enclosures is available on the Ministry of Defence and Delhi Police official websites. Regular announcements are being made at all metro stations to guide the public.

Metro Access for Enclosures
Guests visiting the Byas, Brahmaputra, Chambal, Chinab, Gandak, Ganga, Ghaghara, Godavari, Sindhu, and Jhelum enclosures are advised to alight at the Udyog Bhawan metro station. For the Kaveri, Kosi, Krishna, Mahanadi, Narmada, Penar, Periyar, Ravi, Son, Sutlej, Teesta, Vaigai, and Yamuna enclosures, the recommended station is Central Secretariat.

Prohibited Items
Bags, briefcases, food and beverages, electronic devices (excluding mobile phones), water bottles, power banks, umbrellas, lighters, matches, knives, scissors, weapons, flammable items, and any other restricted items are strictly prohibited inside the enclosures. Citizens are requested to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police personnel or call 112 immediately.
