18-Year-Old Girl Raped and Murdered at Brick Kiln in Anupgarh, Workers Block Highway

Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan: A wave of shock and outrage swept through Anupgarh after the body of an 18-year-old girl was found under suspicious circumstances in a water tank at a brick kiln in village 87 GB. The victim, who had been working as a laborer at the kiln along with her mother and brother, was allegedly raped and murdered, prompting angry workers to block a national highway demanding swift action against the accused.

The gruesome discovery was made at the Fauji brick kiln when fellow workers noticed the girl’s body floating in the water tank (diggi) on the premises. Family members and laborers rushed to the spot and pulled the body out before informing the police.

Family Alleges Rape and Murder

The victim’s brother, Santosh, accused a kiln worker named Rajkumar of committing the crime. He claimed that his sister was raped and then murdered. According to Santosh, he woke up around 1 a.m. and found that his sister was missing from her bed. After searching for her through the night, the family spotted her body floating in the water tank around 3 a.m.

He further alleged that two photographs of the accused were found in his sister’s clothes during the search, strengthening their suspicion against Rajkumar.

Highway Blocked by Protesting Workers

Enraged by the incident and demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, workers descended onto National Highway 911 carrying sticks and batons, blocking traffic and staging a protest. On receiving information, a police team led by ASI Kalu Ram Meena reached the spot and attempted to pacify the protesters. After assurances from the police, the highway blockade was eventually lifted.

The police have sent the victim’s body for post-mortem examination and launched a detailed investigation into the case. Authorities have assured strict action against those responsible once the probe is completed.
