17-Year-Old Brick Kiln Worker Bludgeoned to Death in UP’s Shahjahanpur

SHAHJAHANPUR : A 17-year-old brick kiln worker was brutally killed after being struck on the head with a heavy object in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, police said on Saturday.

The body of the victim, Kamlesh Kumar, a resident of Rawatpur village, was found on Saturday morning near the village panchayat building, approximately 200 metres from his residence, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi told PTI.

According to villagers and family members, Kamlesh worked at a local brick kiln and had returned home on Friday evening after completing his work. He was reported missing later in the night, and his body was discovered the following morning, bearing severe head injuries.

Police suspect that the teenager was attacked with a blunt and heavy object, resulting in fatal injuries. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Police teams are questioning local residents and examining possible motives, including personal enmity and workplace-related disputes. Further action will be taken based on post-mortem findings and evidence collected from the scene, officials said.
