Gurugram/Palwal:
A 15-year-old boy from Kishanganj, Bihar, was abducted and held captive by a dairy owner, suffering severe injuries during his forced labor. The boy’s left hand was cut by a fodder-cutting machine, and his captor abandoned him near a Haryana highway, disposing of the severed hand in a nearby river. Despite the extreme trauma, police successfully traced the perpetrator and ensured justice after a five-month-long search spanning over 500 villages across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
Kidnapping and Ordeal
The boy, named Anil, was abducted on May 27 while traveling on the Farrakka Express from Kangra to Kishanganj. A dairy owner spotted him at Bahadurgarh railway station, forcibly took him to his facility, and made him work under inhumane conditions. During this time, the boy’s left hand was severed in a fodder-cutting machine. Instead of seeking medical help, the captor gave him ₹7,500 in cash and abandoned him on a desolate highway.
Struggle and Rescue
The boy managed to escape before surgery, wandering barefoot and injured to a secluded bus stop in Tauru, Nuh. A local teacher noticed him and took him to a health center, alerting the police. Initial trauma left the boy unable to provide clear information about his captor, but following media coverage, crucial leads emerged.
Police Investigation and Digital Tracking
The GRP (Government Railway Police) initiated a painstaking investigation under the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act, 2015, and multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including kidnapping, illegal confinement, and causing grievous harm with dangerous tools. Using only the boy’s testimony and the names of the captor’s daughters, Ria and Sia, GRP officers mapped possible areas along the Yamuna River, scanning hundreds of villages in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Investigators even went beyond approved fuel budgets, using personal funds to continue the search.
Breakthrough and Arrest
Finally, on December 30, the GRP located the perpetrator, 28-year-old dairy owner Anil, in Motipur village, Greater Noida. Teams from Ambala, Rohtak, Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, and Sonipat, led by SP Nitika Gehlot and Inspector Satya Prakash, confirmed that Anil had disposed of the boy’s severed hand in a river and transported him roughly 100 km to Palwal. Anil admitted to panicking after the accident.
Aftermath
The boy is now recovering, and the GRP continues to pursue legal action to ensure justice for the severe abuse and abduction he endured. The case highlights the dedication of law enforcement in navigating vast territories and scarce information to protect vulnerable victims.
