₹2.5-Crore Racehorse from London Gifted to Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Birthday; Winner of Seven Races

Gonda:
The birthday celebrations of former Kaiserganj MP and senior BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have drawn widespread attention in Uttar Pradesh, not only for the grand religious event and show of strength in Gonda, but also for a unique and high-value gift presented to him — a ₹2.5-crore thoroughbred racehorse imported from London.

The horse, which has already won seven races, was gifted to Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh by a couple from Haryana, adding a distinctive highlight to the birthday festivities. The gift has since become a major talking point in political and social circles.

Gift from Haryana Couple

The horse was presented by Ravindra Pal Singh Chauhan and his wife Sangeeta Singh Chauhan, residents of Rewari district in Haryana. The couple personally travelled to Gonda with the horse to hand over the gift. During the ceremony, Sangeeta Singh Chauhan was seen holding the reins as the horse was formally presented to the former MP.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh publicly expressed his appreciation for the gesture and praised the couple’s affection for horses, a passion he himself is known to share.

An Award-Winning Thoroughbred

According to media reports, the horse is a thoroughbred, whose dam (mother) is named The Gurkha and is currently based in Ireland. At the time of its birth, the horse was valued at around ₹50 lakh, but its price rose sharply after entering competitive racing.

The horse has participated in 38 race competitions so far. It has secured:

  • 7 first-place finishes
  • 2 second places
  • 5 third places
  • 4 fourth-place finishes

The horse has reportedly earned prize money worth ₹22.41 lakh through racing.

Symbol of Power and Tradition

Explaining the thought behind the gift, Ravindra Pal Singh Chauhan said that horses have symbolised strength, authority, and governance since ancient times. “We felt this gift was appropriate for the right person. It was my wife’s idea to present a horse on his birthday,” he said, adding that they were pleased the former MP accepted the gift.

Celebrations Remain in Spotlight

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s birthday was marked by a large religious discourse (Rashtra Katha), a grand convoy, and the presence of supporters from across the region. The arrival of the imported racehorse further amplified the attention surrounding the event.

The rare and expensive gift has underscored the former MP’s enduring influence and the symbolic significance attached to horses in Indian tradition, making the birthday celebration one of the most talked-about political-social events in the region.
