Noida, February 21, 2026: In a major push to strengthen road connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has released ₹1,204 crore for the construction of a 74.3-kilometre-long link expressway connecting the Yamuna Expressway with the Ganga Expressway.
The funds have been allocated to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) for land acquisition. A formal communication regarding the allocation was issued on February 17 by the state government.
740 Acres to Be Acquired Across 16 Villages
For the construction of the Ganga Link Expressway, approximately 740 acres of land will be acquired from 16 villages in the YEIDA region. The land acquisition process has already begun following detailed surveys.
Villages in Jewar, including Mehndipur Bangar, Bhaipur Brahmanan, Rabupura, Bhunnatga, Myana, Fazilpur, and Kallupura, are among those identified for acquisition. After completing the process, the land will be handed over to the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which will execute the construction.
Project Route and Key Features
The link expressway will originate at the 44.3-km mark of the Ganga Expressway near Siyana in Bulandshahr and connect to the Yamuna Expressway near the 24.8-km point close to Sector-21 Film City.
Out of the total 74.3 km stretch, around 20 km falls within the YEIDA region, including a 9-km elevated corridor. Service roads will also be constructed to ensure smooth local connectivity.
The overall cost of the project is estimated at approximately ₹4,000 crore. The expressway will pass through 56 villages — eight in Gautam Buddh Nagar and 48 in Bulandshahr district.
Boost to Connectivity and Economic Growth
The new link will significantly enhance regional and national connectivity, especially with the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar expected to increase vehicular and cargo traffic in the region.
Once operational, the link expressway will provide seamless connectivity between Meerut and Prayagraj via the Ganga Expressway and further link to Agra and Greater Noida through the Yamuna Expressway. It will also strengthen access to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and facilitate smoother movement of freight vehicles to and from the airport.
Officials stated that the project will play a crucial role in expanding Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure network and boosting logistics, trade, and investment opportunities in the region.
