
Vadodara: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) once again proved their dominance in the Women’s Premier League as they defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets in the WPL 2026 Final, clinching their second championship title. While captain Smriti Mandhana played a breathtaking innings, it was Georgia Voll’s fearless support that turned the historic chase into reality.
After the thrilling victory, Georgia Voll made a bold and confident statement, crediting the team’s planning and Mandhana’s leadership for pulling off one of the biggest chases in WPL history.
Georgia Voll’s Big Statement After the Win
Following RCB’s title triumph, Georgia Voll said that the team’s key focus was to take the match as deep as possible, trusting their strong finishing unit.
“This was all about taking the match as deep as we could. It was a great wicket for batting and we have some really good finishers in our team. So if we could stay at the crease for as long as possible, we knew we could finish it well,” Voll said after the match.
She added that the entire team deserved full credit for an incredible season and that winning the trophy was the perfect ending.
Mandhana-Voll Partnership Creates History
Chasing a daunting target of 204 runs, RCB produced a sensational batting display. The match was largely defined by the massive 165-run partnership for the second wicket between Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll.
- Smriti Mandhana scored 87 runs off 41 balls, smashing 12 fours and 3 sixes.
- Georgia Voll played a superb knock of 79 runs off 54 balls, including 14 boundaries.
RCB successfully chased down the target in 19.4 overs, scoring 204/4, and scripting one of the greatest chases ever witnessed in WPL history.
Delhi Capitals Post 203, But Fall Short Again
Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted a strong total of 203/4 thanks to key contributions from:
- Jemimah Rodrigues (57 runs)
- Laura Wolvaardt (44 runs)
- Lizele Lee (37 runs)
- Chinelle Henry (35 runs)*
Despite setting a massive total, Delhi could not stop RCB’s aggressive approach and composed chase.
“Special to Perform in the Final,” Says Voll
Georgia Voll also admitted that she felt extremely satisfied to deliver in the biggest match of the season.
“It feels really good to contribute in a final. For most of the season, I felt like I couldn’t really hit the ball through the square region, so to perform in the final is definitely something special,” she said.
