“When All Is Calm, the Truth Will Emerge”: Gautam Gambhir Responds to Shashi Tharoor, Leaving Many Surprised

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor recently praised former cricketer and Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir, calling his role “the second most challenging job in India after the Prime Minister.” Gambhir has now responded to Tharoor’s remarks, sparking widespread attention.

Tharoor made the statement after meeting Gambhir in Nagpur ahead of the first match of the five-match T20 series between India and New Zealand. He acknowledged that coaching the Indian cricket team is an extremely high-pressure responsibility.

Gambhir’s Thoughtful Response on X

Responding to Tharoor’s post on X (formerly Twitter), Gambhir wrote:
“Dr. Shashi Tharoor, thank you very much! When all is calm, the truth and reasoning behind a coach’s ‘unlimited powers’ will come to light. Until then, I can only laugh at being made to stand against my own people, who are the very best!”

Tharoor Shares a Candid Moment

Tharoor also shared a photograph of his meeting with Gambhir on social media, calling him an old friend and praising his ability to handle one of the most demanding roles in the country. He wrote:
“In Nagpur, I had a good and open conversation with my old friend Gautam Gambhir. He manages one of the toughest jobs in India, second only to the Prime Minister.”

Series Update

The T20 series between India and New Zealand began on February 7. India won the first match by 48 runs. The second match is scheduled to take place in Raipur at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on Friday.
