Virat Kohli Teases Yashasvi Jaiswal With Salman Khan Dance Step; Video Goes Viral

New Delhi: A light-hearted moment from the first ODI between India and South Africa in Ranchi has taken social media by storm. A viral video shows former India captain Virat Kohli playfully teasing young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal by mimicking a famous dance step of Bollywood star Salman Khan.

Kohli Steals the Show On and Off the Field

While Kohli dominated the match with the bat—smashing his 52nd ODI century with a magnificent 135 off 120 balls, including 11 fours and 7 sixes—he also grabbed attention for his fun off-field antics. The batting icon was later awarded the Player of the Match.

The viral clip, circulating widely on X, shows the Indian team standing near the boundary line when Kohli notices Jaiswal’s hairstyle. Jaiswal is currently sporting a middle-partition look, famously worn by Salman Khan in the cult film Tere Naam. Kohli instantly recreates the iconic “Lagan Lagi” dance step, leaving teammates in splits and winning the internet’s heart.

A Hairstyle That Started the Fun

The Tere Naam hairstyle, once a massive trend in the early 2000s, appears to be making a comeback—especially with young fans and now even cricketers. Kohli’s playful gesture highlighted the team’s camaraderie and drew a humorous connection between Jaiswal’s look and Salman Khan’s character.

Kohli Opens Up About His Cricket Future

After the match, Kohli made a significant remark about his international career. When asked during the post-match presentation whether he plans to focus only on ODIs moving forward, he responded:

“Yes, and it will always remain that way. I am playing just one format now.”

Explaining further, Kohli said:

“If you’ve played around 300 games, you know your physical capacity to bat long. As long as you’re hitting the ball well, it’s all about being physically fit, mentally prepared and excited.”

His statement makes it clear that his eyes are firmly set on the 2027 ODI World Cup, with ODI cricket being his sole priority.
