Mumbai: The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) Season 3 player auction witnessed a blockbuster spending spree, with franchises collectively shelling out nearly ₹10 crore on 144 players. The auction, held on Tuesday in Mumbai, set new records in the T10 cricket league’s history.
Vijay Pavle Steals the Spotlight
Vijay Pavle emerged as the headline act, bought by defending champions Majhi Mumbai for ₹32.50 lakh, making him the highest-priced player in the league’s history. The West Zone star all-rounder returns to his familiar territory after leading Mumbai to the title in the previous season.
Following him, West Zone teammate Ketan Mhathre was retained by Chennai Singams using the Right-to-Match card for ₹26.40 lakh, making him the day’s second most expensive player.
New Teams and Rising Competition
With the addition of two new franchises, Ahmedabad Lions and Delhi Superheroes, Season 3 promises to be the most competitive yet. The tournament will take place from 9 January to 6 February 2026 at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat. The day began with the official unveiling of the “Street Star,” a humanoid innovation designed to redefine fan engagement in ISPL Season 3.
Young Talent Shines
The Under-19 category saw aggressive bidding, with Ankit Yadav emerging as the most expensive young player at ₹6.50 lakh, purchased by the Tigers of Kolkata. Sixteen-year-old Rudra Patil made history as the youngest player of the season, bought by Veer Srinagar at his base price of ₹3 lakh.
Tendulkar’s Words of Wisdom
During the auction, ISPL Core Committee member Sachin Tendulkar advised players:
“I started playing cricket out of passion. My advice to all ISPL players is to be yourself. Can you be better today than you were yesterday? This is a platform to express yourself, and everyone is watching and enjoying your talent. Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you.”
Season 3 MVP Reward
ISPL also announced that the Season 3 Most Valuable Player (MVP) will receive a Porsche 911, making it one of the most prestigious individual awards in Indian sports history.
