
New Delhi: The T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, has officially begun with high-intensity matches and thrilling contests. The tournament features 20 teams, divided into four groups of five teams each, with every team playing against the others in their respective group.
As per the tournament format, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8 stage. A total of 55 matches will be played in the competition, with the grand final scheduled for March 8.
With the initial matches completed, the points table has started taking shape, highlighting early dominance by strong teams such as India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand.
