Simon Harmer Shines in India, ICC Honors Shafali Verma with Prestigious Award

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Players of the Month for November 2025. South African star spinner Simon Harmer has been named the Men’s Player of the Month, while India’s Shafali Verma has been honored as the Women’s Player of the Month.

Harmer delivered a stellar performance in the two-match Test series against India, taking a total of 17 wickets and playing a key role in South Africa’s 2-0 series victory.

Following his recognition, Harmer said, “Being named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November is a huge honor. Playing for my country has always been a dream come true, and any achievements that follow feel like a bonus. I share this award with my teammates, coaches, and support staff, and dedicate it to my family, who have supported me and allowed me to pursue my dreams, often making sacrifices along the way.”

He added, “Being part of the Proteas team is a privilege, and I look forward to many more successful seasons with this amazing group.”

Shafali Verma: Women’s Player of the Month
Indian opener Shafali Verma earned the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for her match-winning performance in the 2025 Women’s World Cup final against South Africa at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. Verma scored a brilliant 87 runs, forming a 104-run opening partnership with Smriti Mandhana, significantly influencing the outcome of the match.

In addition to her batting heroics, she made crucial contributions with the ball, claiming key wickets including Suné Luus and Marizanne Kapp.

Expressing her delight, Shafali said, “I am truly honored to be named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November. I dedicate this award to my teammates, coaches, family, and everyone who has supported me throughout my journey. As a team, we win and lose together, and this award reflects that spirit as well.”
