Indian cricket star and captain of the ODI and Test teams, Shubman Gill, recently surprised former Test player Sarfaraz Khan with a special gift — a Casio G-Shock watch. Sarfaraz shared the gesture on his official Instagram story, expressing his gratitude to Gill.
Gill, who is currently leading India in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, has been in fine form. In the first ODI played at Vadodara, India secured a four-wicket win, with Gill opening the innings alongside Rohit Sharma. He scored a well-crafted 56 runs off 71 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes, marking his first ODI fifty in quite some time. Fans are eagerly anticipating another big innings from the captain in the second ODI.
Sarfaraz Khan in Red-Hot Form
Sarfaraz Khan is also enjoying exceptional form. In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy season, he has amassed 303 runs in five innings across six matches, including a century and two fifties, with an impressive strike rate of 190.56. Earlier, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 329 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 203.8, including one century and three fifties.
Sarfaraz, a former member of India’s Test team, was released following the 2024-25 tour of Australia and has not featured in the national side since. This thoughtful gift from Gill highlights the camaraderie and mutual respect between India’s current and former players, even as both continue to shine in domestic and international cricket.
