Ridhima Pathak Clarifies BPL Exit: “It Was My Personal Decision, Not a Drop”

The 2025-26 season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) began on December 26. Indian presenter Ridhima Pathak was scheduled to cover the Dhaka leg of the tournament. However, reports surfaced claiming that she had been removed from the BPL presentation panel before even arriving in Bangladesh.

Addressing the rumors, Ridhima Pathak released a statement on social media, clarifying that she chose to step away from the league herself. She emphasized that it was a personal decision, not a decision taken by the organizers.

In her statement, Ridhima said, “In the past few hours, it has been said that I was dropped from the BPL. However, stepping away from the league was my personal choice. For me, my country always comes first. I value cricket more than any assignment. I am fortunate to have worked in this sport for years with honesty, respect, and passion. I will always stand for integrity, clarity, and the spirit of the game.”

She further thanked her supporters, saying, “Thank you to everyone who supported me. Your messages mean a lot. Cricket deserves the truth, and that’s all I have to say.”

Meanwhile, in other cricket developments, Bangladesh has banned its players from participating in the IPL. Following BCCI directives, Kolkata Knight Riders released Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman. Bangladesh has also refused to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup 2026. According to ESPNcricinfo, the ICC rejected Bangladesh’s request to shift its matches to Sri Lanka.
