New Delhi: Indian leg-spinner Rahul Chahar has officially announced his divorce from his wife, Ishani Johar, bringing an end to their four-year marriage. The 26-year-old cricketer shared the development through a heartfelt post on social media, revealing that the legal process had been ongoing for the past 15 months.

“I Married at a Young Age,” Says Chahar

In his statement, Chahar reflected on marrying at the age of 22, admitting that he had not fully understood himself or the life he wanted to build at the time.

“I got married at a young age, before I truly understood myself, my worth, or the life I genuinely wanted to create. Over the years, I learned lessons I never expected. The last 15 months were spent in court, where I learned patience, courage, and the kind of strength that only some situations demand.”

He confirmed that the divorce was finalized following due legal process and mutual resolution.

“Today, this chapter of my life officially closes. After completing the proper legal process, the matter has been resolved. It came at a heavy cost, but this phase of my life is now over. I am closing this chapter not with anger or regret, but with clarity.”

Relationship Timeline

Rahul Chahar and Ishani Johar were in a long-term relationship before tying the knot. The couple got engaged on December 12, 2019, and married in a ceremony in Goa on March 9, 2022. Several cricketers attended the wedding celebrations. Ishani, a fashion designer by profession, was often seen supporting Chahar during IPL matches.

Chahar made his domestic debut for Rajasthan in 2016 at just 17 years of age. His standout performance for Mumbai Indians in the 2019 IPL season earned him a call-up to the Indian national side. He has represented India in one ODI and six T20 Internationals and was also part of the squad during the 2021 T20 World Cup.
