New Delhi: Former Olympic medalist Mary Kom’s ex-husband, Karung Onkholer, has made shocking claims regarding her personal life. Onkholer denied allegations of financial fraud and land disputes leveled by Mary Kom, calling them “false,” and instead alleged that the boxing champion was involved in extramarital relationships.
Claims of Past Affairs
Onkholer stated that Mary Kom had an affair with a junior boxer in 2013, which caused significant conflict between their families at the time. He further claimed that since 2017, Mary Kom has been in a relationship with someone associated with the Mary Kom Boxing Academy. Onkholer said he possesses WhatsApp messages and other proof identifying the person involved.
Ex-Husband Speaks Out
Speaking to IANS, Onkholer said:
“I will address what she told the Lok Adalat. First, in 2013, she was in a relationship with a junior boxer. There were fights between our families, after which we reached a compromise. Since 2017, she has been in a relationship with someone from the Mary Kom Boxing Academy. I have proof—messages with names. I stayed silent all this time.”
He added:
“She wanted to live alone and be in another relationship. Our divorce happened. I have no problem if she wants another husband. But she should never blame me. If she does, she must provide proof. I know who she stays with and where she lives.”
Dispute Over Property and Allegations
Onkholer also spoke about property disputes and accusations of theft:
“She wanted to remove my name from the property. She claimed I stole ₹5 crore. Check my account. We were together for 18 years of marriage, and now this? I have been living in a rented house in Delhi while she is a celebrity. Whatever she says, people listen to some and ignore the rest.”
The allegations and counterclaims highlight the ongoing personal and legal controversies surrounding the former world champion boxer.
