Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed explosive New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Finn Allen for IPL 2026. Known for his aggressive batting in T20 cricket, Allen previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2021 and 2022 but did not get a chance to showcase his talent on the field. KKR acquired him in the auction at his base price of ₹2 crore.
Explosive Big Bash Performance
Allen, a top-order batter, is famous for his long sixes. In the sixth match of the Big Bash League, representing Perth Scorchers, he delivered a whirlwind performance, scoring 79 runs off just 38 balls. His innings included 3 fours and 8 towering sixes, with a remarkable feat of hitting three consecutive sixes in a single over against left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann. Allen reached his fifty in just 26 balls, displaying his signature aggressive style.
Outstanding T20 Career Stats
At 26, Finn Allen has already made a mark in international T20s. In 52 matches for New Zealand, he has scored 1,285 runs at a strike rate of 163, including 2 centuries and 5 fifties. Across 163 T20 matches overall, Allen has amassed 4,510 runs at a strike rate of 174, with 4 centuries and 29 fifties. Among players with over 100 T20 appearances, he boasts one of the best strike rates in the world.
Earlier this year, Allen also set the record for most sixes in a T20 inning during Major League Cricket, smashing 19 sixes and 4 fours in 151 runs off just 51 balls.
With his arrival at KKR, fans can expect fireworks at the top of the order in IPL 2026.
