India’s Loss in Rajkot ODI Blamed on Jadeja; Calls Grow to Replace Him

Rajkot: Team India suffered a disappointing defeat against New Zealand in the second ODI at Rajkot, and all eyes are now on Ravindra Jadeja, whose underwhelming performance has sparked widespread criticism.

Struggles with the Bat
In a match where quick runs were crucial, Jadeja managed only 27 runs off 44 balls. His slow scoring prevented India from posting a competitive total, putting extra pressure on his teammates. Modern cricket demands that all-rounders contribute aggressively with the bat, but Jadeja failed to meet those expectations.

Ineffective with the Ball
Jadeja’s woes extended to bowling as well. He bowled 8 overs without taking a wicket, failing to provide breakthroughs during the crucial middle overs. As an experienced bowler, he was expected to contain the Kiwi batsmen, but they played him with ease, leaving India on the back foot.

Poor Form Continues
Jadeja’s struggles have not been limited to this match. In the first ODI, he gave away 56 runs in 9 overs and scored just 4 runs with the bat. His recent form has led many to label him as a weak link in the team.

Calls for Axar Patel’s Return
Given Jadeja’s slump, calls are growing to bring Axar Patel back into the playing XI. Currently in strong form, Patel offers a more aggressive batting approach and precise, wicket-taking bowling. Replacing an out-of-form Jadeja with Axar could provide the balance and firepower India needs to strengthen its lineup.
