India U17 Women’s Team Set to Face Older Opponents in SAFF U19 Championship

The Indian U17 women’s football team will kick off their campaign in the SAFF U19 Women’s Championship 2026 against hosts Nepal at Pokhara Rangasala Stadium on Saturday.

Under the guidance of new head coach Pamela Conti, the Young Tigresses are using the higher-age group tournament to prepare for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup, scheduled to be held in China from April 30.

At a pre-competition press conference, Conti shared her excitement about leading the team in her first tournament, emphasizing the opportunity for the young players to gain valuable experience against older opponents.
