Visakhapatnam: The third and final ODI of the India-South Africa series will be played at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on December 6. With the series tied 1-1, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli, who has been in sensational form, scoring centuries in the first two ODIs.
Outstanding Record at Visakhapatnam
Virat Kohli has a remarkable record at Visakhapatnam. In his 7 ODI appearances at this venue, he has scored 587 runs at an average of 97.83, including three centuries, two fifties, and a score of 99. His highest score at the stadium is an unbeaten 157, although he also has one match where he did not score.
Chasing a Century Hat-Trick
Having scored centuries in Ranchi and Raipur, Kohli now has the opportunity to achieve a century hat-trick, marking the second time in his ODI career he could score three consecutive hundreds. The first instance came in 2018 against West Indies, when he scored centuries in Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Pune. Currently, only Babar Azam has managed the feat of scoring three consecutive ODI centuries on two occasions.
Aggressive New Approach
This series has seen Kohli adopt a slightly more aggressive approach. Traditionally known for settling in gradually, he has started attacking right from the beginning. In the first ODI, he struck two sixes in his first 20 balls, and in Raipur, he opened his account with a six.
As the decisive third ODI approaches, cricket fans across the country are eagerly watching to see whether Virat Kohli can create history once again with a consecutive century at Visakhapatnam.
