The fourth T20 match between India and South Africa at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium was abandoned due to heavy fog, leaving fans disappointed. The toss could not even be conducted, and the game was called off without a single ball being bowled.
Continuous Inspections Before Abandonment
Before the match was called off, the umpires carried out multiple inspections. The first inspection was scheduled at 6:50 PM as the toss, originally set for 6:30 PM, could not take place on time. With no clarity on the match’s start, the second inspection was held at 7:30 PM, but the game could still not begin. Subsequent inspections took place at 8:00 PM, 8:30 PM, and finally at 9:25 PM. Despite these repeated checks, the match was eventually abandoned.
Fans Left Heartbroken
Several fans who had traveled to Ekana Stadium were visibly disappointed. Many expressed their frustration at not being able to witness live cricket, with some recalling the long journey and high expectations.
India Secures Series Advantage
India currently leads the five-match series 2-1. With the fourth T20 abandoned, the team is now assured of not losing the series. Even if South Africa wins the final match in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the series will end in a 2-2 draw, ensuring India retains the upper hand.
