Raipur | December 3, 2025: Team India will take on South Africa in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium today. Skipper Rohit Sharma, who has been in sensational form, stands on the verge of adding yet another historic milestone to his glittering career.
In the run-fest played at Ranchi on November 30, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli demolished several records. Rohit went on to surpass Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s record for the most sixes in ODI cricket, cementing his reputation as one of the greatest stroke-makers of the modern era.
Now in Raipur, Rohit needs just 41 runs to enter an elite club. With those runs, he will complete 20,000 international runs across formats, becoming only the fourth Indian to reach this monumental figure.
The only Indians ahead of him are:
- Sachin Tendulkar: 34,357 runs
- Virat Kohli: 27,808 runs
- Rahul Dravid: 24,064 runs
Rohit is set to join this distinguished list today.
Rohit Sharma’s International Numbers
Since making his debut in 2007, Rohit has represented India in 503 international matches, amassing:
- Total Runs: 19,959
- Average: 42.46
- Centuries: 50
- Fifties: 110
- Test Runs: 4,301
- ODI Runs: 11,427
- T20I Runs: 4,231
A Remarkable 2025 for Rohit
The year 2025 has been outstanding for Rohit Sharma. Having retired from Tests and T20Is, the Indian captain now plays exclusively in ODIs — and the results are showing.
So far this year, Rohit has scored:
- 561 runs in 12 matches
- Average: 51
- Centuries: 2
- Fifties: 3
His last three innings include two fifties and a superb unbeaten 121 against Australia. Rohit also struck a fluent 57 off 51 balls in the Ranchi ODI against South Africa.
With such form, his reaching the 20,000-run milestone in Raipur seems all but certain.
