Virat Kohli Breaks into ‘Naagin Dance’ After South Africa Wicket in ODI
Raipur: Virat Kohli is back in his vibrant form, both with the bat and on the field. After a relatively quiet tour in Australia, Kohli has been unstoppable against South Africa, scoring centuries in the first two ODIs of the series. Fans got another glimpse of his playful side when he celebrated a key wicket with a ‘Naagin Dance’, which quickly went viral on social media.
During India’s second ODI against South Africa on Wednesday, Kohli scored 102 runs off 93 balls, including seven boundaries and two sixes, marking his 53rd ODI century. Alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad, he shared a 195-run partnership for the third wicket, with Gaikwad also scoring his maiden ODI century, hitting 105 runs off 83 balls.
The celebration occurred when South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was dismissed by India’s fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, giving India their first breakthrough of the innings. Overjoyed, Kohli could not contain his excitement and performed his iconic Naagin dance on the field. The clip was widely shared, including by Star Sports Kannada.
Despite Kohli’s stellar performance, India lost the match. Batting first, Team India posted a formidable 358 runs, but South Africa chased the target in the final over. Centuries from Aiden Markram and half-centuries from De Kock and Matthew Boast ensured the victory. The series is now tied 1-1 in the three-match ODI series.
Kohli’s return to form, coupled with his on-field exuberance, has once again thrilled fans, reminding them of the electrifying energy he brings to every match.
