Former England Cricketer Makes Surprising Demand: Wants India-Pakistan Test Series, Suggests Venue

New Delhi: Relations between India and Pakistan remain tense, yet discussions about cricket matches continue to make headlines. Before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan stirred controversy by initially refusing to play against India, citing support for Bangladesh. However, the team has now agreed to face India in the group-stage match on February 15 in Colombo.

Michael Vaughan Advocates India-Pakistan Test Series
Former England captain and cricketer Michael Vaughan has expressed his desire to see a full-fledged Test series between India and Pakistan. Vaughan took to X (formerly Twitter) after Pakistan agreed to play against India, stating that such a series would be great for competition and cricket. He suggested that the United Kingdom would be a suitable venue to host a three-match Test series.

The Last India-Pakistan Test Series
The last Test series between India and Pakistan took place 19 years ago, in 2007. The three-match series was hosted in India, and India won 1-0. The first Test in Delhi ended in a six-wicket victory for India, while the second Test in Kolkata and the third in Bengaluru both ended in draws.

Head-to-Head in T20 World Cups
India and Pakistan will now meet in the T20 World Cup 2026, continuing their historic rivalry. So far, Pakistan has defeated India only once in T20 World Cups—in 2021. Out of the eight T20 World Cup encounters between the two nations, India has won six, Pakistan one, and one match ended in a tie.
