Five Indian Players in the 2026 T20 World Cup Who Also Featured in 2021: How They Performed

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently announced the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will begin on 7 February 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team as captain, with Axar Patel appointed as the vice-captain.

Among the selected squad, five players were also part of the Indian team during the 2021 T20 World Cup held in the UAE. Here’s a look at their past performances:

1. Ishan Kishan
The wicketkeeper-batsman was part of the 2021 squad but got the opportunity to play in only one match, scoring 4 runs.

2. Suryakumar Yadav
The current captain played 4 matches in the 2021 World Cup, scoring 42 runs.

3. Varun Chakravarthy
India’s mystery spinner played 3 matches in 2021 but did not manage to claim any wickets.

4. Jasprit Bumrah
The star pacer played 5 matches in the 2021 tournament, taking 7 wickets. Bumrah also represented India in the 2016 T20 World Cup, making him an experienced campaigner.

5. Hardik Pandya
The all-rounder featured in 3 out of 5 matches for India in 2021, scoring a total of 69 runs.
