Don’t Drag Us Into This”: Choreographer Breaks Silence After Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponed

Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and film producer Palash Muchhal were scheduled to tie the knot on 23 November in Sangli, Maharashtra. Fans had been eagerly awaiting the ceremony, but both families abruptly announced that the wedding had been postponed, citing health reasons.

Soon after the announcement, sharp-eyed fans noticed that Smriti had removed all her Instagram posts related to the wedding — including her engagement and proposal photographs. The sudden silence and the deleted posts triggered a storm of speculation across social media.

Rumours Spread on Social Media

Amid the frenzy, an anonymous Reddit post claimed that two choreographers — Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz — were somehow involved in the postponement.
Both had been hired to choreograph the wedding performances.

The claim, entirely unverified, spread rapidly online, causing both their names to trend on multiple platforms and fueling widespread rumours.

Choreographer Gulnaaz Issues a Statement

As speculation intensified, choreographer Gulnaaz broke her silence on Instagram.
In a strongly worded note, she wrote:

“I have been watching the rumours and false claims about me and my friend Nandika. I want to clarify that we have no involvement in this matter. Just because we know someone socially or have a picture with them does not mean we are connected to their personal issues. Please respect boundaries and do not jump to conclusions. We appreciate your understanding and support.”

Her statement came at a time when multiple unverified theories were circulating without any official confirmation.

Nandika Dwivedi Remains Silent

While Gulnaaz spoke out, choreographer Nandika Dwivedi has issued no public statement.
She has reportedly set her social media profile to private amid the rising online scrutiny.

No Comment from Mandhana or Muchhal Families

Neither Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal, nor their families have commented on the controversy so far.
They have not explained why the wedding was postponed or why the related posts were removed from Instagram.
