
Vadodara, January 20, 2026: Delhi Capitals registered a commanding seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in the 18th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 at BCA Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, securing their second win of the season.
Mumbai Sets a Target of 155
After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals’ captain Jemima Rodrigues opted to bowl first. Mumbai Indians managed 154/5 in their allotted 20 overs, with Bront Net Siver top-scoring with an unbeaten 65 off 45 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 41 runs. For Delhi, Sri Charani was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets, while Marijan Cap and Nandini Sharma took 1 wicket each.
Rodrigues’ Captain’s Knock
Chasing 155, Delhi Capitals reached the target with one over to spare. Captain Jemima Rodrigues played a brilliant captain’s innings, scoring an unbeaten 51 off 37 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six. Marijan Cap finished the match with a six to seal a comprehensive win.
Shafali Verma’s Explosive Start
Young opener Shafali Verma gave Delhi a flying start, scoring 46 runs off 28 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. Lizelle Lee added 29 runs, while Laura Wolvaardt contributed 17. For Mumbai, Amanjot Kaur and Vaishnavi Sharma picked up 1 wicket each.
With this victory, Delhi Capitals joined Mumbai Indians, UP Warriors, and Gujarat Giants on 4 points each. Royal Challengers Bangalore remain at the top with 10 points from 5 matches, while the race for the knockout playoffs continues among the remaining teams.
