5 Legendary Batsmen Who Never Scored 150 in an ODI, Including India’s 17-Century Hero

Scoring 150 or more runs in a single One Day International (ODI) innings is a remarkable feat, yet there are some cricketing legends who, despite stellar careers, never reached this milestone. Here’s a look at five such players:

1. Mahela Jayawardene – Sri Lanka
Mahela Jayawardene, second only to Sachin Tendulkar in appearances for Sri Lanka, scored 12,650 runs in ODIs with 19 centuries and 77 fifties. However, his highest ODI score remained 144, and he never crossed the 150-run mark.

2. Shikhar Dhawan – India
One of India’s premier ODI batsmen, Shikhar Dhawan amassed 6,793 runs in 167 matches at an average of over 44, including 17 centuries and 39 fifties. His highest ODI score stands at 143.

3. Jacques Kallis – South Africa
The legendary South African all-rounder scored 11,579 runs in 328 ODIs with 11 centuries and 86 fifties. His top score was 139 against the West Indies in 2004, narrowly missing the 150-run mark.

4. Inzamam-ul-Haq – Pakistan
Often compared to Sachin Tendulkar, Inzamam-ul-Haq scored 11,739 runs in 378 ODIs between 1991 and 2007, averaging around 40. His highest ODI score was 137.

5. Michael Clarke – Australia
Former Australian captain Michael Clarke scored 7,981 runs in 245 ODIs at an average of 44.58. Despite leading Australia to the 2015 World Cup victory, his highest ODI score was 130.

Although these players achieved monumental success and left a lasting legacy in ODI cricket, the elusive 150-run mark remained just out of reach for them.
