New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen some of the biggest cricket stars from around the world light up the T20 stage. However, not every international superstar has managed to leave a huge mark in the league. Surprisingly, several legendary cricketers who have dominated international cricket have never scored a century in the IPL. Here’s a look at five such stars:
1. Jacques Kallis
South African legend Jacques Kallis, who played IPL from 2008 to 2014, never managed an IPL century. In 98 matches, Kallis scored 2,427 runs. Despite this, his international career was stellar, amassing 62 centuries across formats.
2. Ricky Ponting
Australian great Ricky Ponting struggled to make an impact in the IPL. Playing just 10 matches between 2008 and 2013, he scored only 91 runs. Yet, in international cricket, Ponting has an incredible 71 centuries to his name.
3. Kane Williamson
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has had a decent IPL career, scoring 2,128 runs in 79 matches with 18 half-centuries. However, he has never converted any innings into a century in the league. Internationally, Williamson has 48 centuries.
4. Matthew Hayden
Australia’s Matthew Hayden, who played for Chennai Super Kings between 2008 and 2010, scored 1,107 runs in 32 matches at a strike rate of 137.5, including eight fifties. Yet, like others on this list, he never achieved an IPL century, despite a prolific international career with 40 centuries.
5. Rahul Dravid
The Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid, who featured in the IPL from 2008 to 2013, played 89 matches and scored 2,174 runs with 11 half-centuries. Still, Dravid never scored a hundred in the IPL, while he had 48 centuries internationally.
Despite not hitting an IPL century, these players brought their experience, class, and stability to their teams, proving that impact in T20 cricket is not just about reaching triple figures but also about consistency and match-winning performances.
