4 Indian Cricketers Who Have Won Both the U19 and T20 World Cups, Virat Kohli Included

In the history of Indian cricket, only four players have achieved the rare feat of winning both the Under-19 World Cup and the T20 World Cup. Among them is Virat Kohli, one of India’s greatest batsmen.

These four players were part of victorious teams in these major tournaments at different points in their careers, making them stand out in Indian cricket history.

1. Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh was part of the Indian U19 World Cup-winning team in 2000, captained by Mohammad Kaif. He delivered a spectacular performance in the tournament, scoring 203 runs and taking 12 wickets in 8 matches, earning the Player of the Series award. Later, he played a key role in India’s first T20 World Cup triumph in 2007, scoring 148 runs in 6 matches and famously hitting six sixes in a single over against England.

2. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli led India’s U19 team to World Cup glory in 2008. He later went on to win the senior T20 World Cup in 2024 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. In the final against South Africa, Kohli played a brilliant 76 off 59 balls, earning the Player of the Match award for his match-winning innings.

3. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja was the vice-captain of the 2008 U19 World Cup-winning squad alongside Virat Kohli. He also became a T20 World Cup champion in 2024 with Team India under Rohit Sharma, cementing his status as a consistent performer on the world stage.

4. Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh was part of India’s U19 World Cup-winning team in 2018, captained by Prithvi Shaw, which defeated Australia in the final. He was also a key member of India’s victorious T20 World Cup 2024 squad, finishing among the top wicket-takers of the tournament.

These four cricketers have etched their names in history by achieving the rare double of U19 and T20 World Cup victories, showcasing India’s strength in nurturing world-class talent from a young age.
