‘Without Muslim Support, SP Wouldn’t Win Even a Village Head Election’: Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak’s Sharp Attack in Baghpat

Baghpat, January 22:
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Wednesday, asserting that the party would fail to win even a gram pradhan (village head) election if it were to lose Muslim support. His remarks, made during a visit to Baghpat, have added fresh intensity to the state’s political discourse ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

Addressing the media at the BJP district office after reviewing development works and holding meetings with party workers, Pathak accused the SP and the Congress of indulging in vote-bank politics based on caste and community, claiming they lack any concrete development agenda.

‘No Issues, Only Caste Politics’

The Deputy CM said the opposition has no real issues to present before the public.
“Both the Samajwadi Party and the Congress survive on caste-based politics. If they had real development issues, they would speak about them. Instead, they are trying to divide society for votes,” Pathak remarked.

Reacting sharply to SP president Akhilesh Yadav’s claim of returning to power in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Pathak said, “Akhilesh Yadav is daydreaming. The people of Uttar Pradesh have not forgotten what the SP regime was like.”

Attack on SP’s Governance Record

Pathak alleged that during the Samajwadi Party’s tenure, the state witnessed a surge in crime, kidnappings, murders, and loot.
“The era of goondaraj cannot return. The people of Uttar Pradesh know this very well,” he said, ruling out any possibility of the SP regaining power.

Allegations of Dynastic Politics

The Deputy CM further accused the SP and Congress of dynastic politics, extending his criticism to other parties as well. He took a swipe at the Congress leadership, referring to Rahul Gandhi and suggesting that leadership in the party would eventually pass on to the next generation of the Gandhi family.

Pathak contrasted this with the BJP’s internal culture, stating, “In the BJP, it is not family lineage but hard work that matters. A party worker can rise to become the Prime Minister or the National President.”

He also described Shiv Sena and NCP as parties deeply rooted in family-centric politics.

Praise for Modi–Yogi Leadership

Praising the ‘double-engine government’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Pathak said Uttar Pradesh is witnessing all-round development under their leadership.
“From highways to healthcare, the state has transformed. As many as 81 medical colleges have already been established in Uttar Pradesh,” he said, adding that Baghpat will soon get its own medical college.

He concluded by asserting that the people of western Uttar Pradesh are satisfied with the BJP government and that development works across the region are setting new benchmarks.

Pathak’s remarks are expected to further sharpen political exchanges in the state as parties gear up for the next electoral battle.
