PATNA: Political tensions in Bihar are escalating as the budget session continues in the state assembly. On Friday, JDU MLA from Phulwari, Shyam Rajak, made a pointed remark against RJD leaders, drawing a stark comparison between the current administration and the “jungle raj” era under Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.
Jungle Raj Reference Sparks Controversy
Speaking to the media outside the Bihar Assembly, Rajak accused the Lalu-Rabri regime of promoting criminal elements and allowing law and order to deteriorate. “While the opposition focuses on current crimes, they must remember the state of Bihar under their rule. Criminals once ruled the streets, and governance had completely collapsed,” he said.
Opposition Compared to ‘Wild Animals’
Without naming RJD directly, Rajak implied that opposition leaders resemble wild animals. “If a wild animal is brought into the city, it will feel uncomfortable. Its natural place is the jungle,” he remarked. He acknowledged that crime has not been completely eradicated, but emphasized that the current administration and police are working continuously to control crime and ensure accountability. “There may be delays in some cases, but action is certainly being taken,” he added.
Commitment to Law and Order
Rajak also urged the police to work more actively to strengthen public confidence in security measures. He claimed that earlier, criminals enjoyed political protection, arrests were delayed, and law enforcement suffered. “The public knows under whose control the administration was back then and how fearlessly criminals operated. Today, the government is committed to enforcing the rule of law with a zero-tolerance approach toward crime,” he concluded.
