Uttarakhand Turns 25: PM Modi Gifts ₹8,260 Crore Projects, Engages with Children and Citizens


Dehradun: Marking 25 years of Uttarakhand’s statehood, Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the Silver Jubilee celebrations and announced development projects worth ₹8,260 crore for the state. The projects span drinking water supply, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the Prime Minister with traditional dhol and folk music, while children presented him with roses as a token of respect. PM Modi also interacted with children, elderly citizens, and beneficiaries, highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive growth.

At a special program held at the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, the Prime Minister inaugurated projects worth ₹8,140 crore. Key initiatives include:

  • Expansion of drinking water supply under the AMRUT scheme across 23 zones in Dehradun.
  • Commissioning of a new electrical substation in Pithoragarh district.
  • Installation of solar power plants in government buildings.
  • Development of an Astroturf hockey ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said, “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is reaching new heights of development. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Uttarakhandis on the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation. This decade will prove to be a period of rapid progress for Uttarakhand.”

The Silver Jubilee celebrations highlighted the state’s progressive growth, cultural heritage, and focus on sustainable development, signaling a strong roadmap for the next 25 years of Uttarakhand’s journey.
