The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified its efforts to ensure the successful completion of the SIR (Special Inclusion & Revision) process ahead of the December 11 deadline. In a strategic move, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak have each been assigned 25 districts to oversee the progress and monitor compliance.
Three Leaders, 75 Districts — Intensive Monitoring Begins
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya confirmed that the Chief Minister and both Deputy CMs have been allocated specific districts to ensure that every eligible citizen submits the SIR form before the deadline.
He stated that dedicated review meetings will be held for the allotted districts, starting from Prayagraj.
Maurya emphasized the importance of the ongoing voter list purification drive conducted by the Election Commission and urged all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to fulfill their responsibilities with “courage and commitment.”
“Do Not Be Misled by Opposition,” Maurya’s Message to BLOs
In a strong warning, Maurya appealed to BLOs not to fall into the “political trap” of leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, and Rahul Gandhi — who have been critical of the SIR process.
He insisted that BLOs should remain focused and ensure that:
- Names of deceased voters are removed
- Duplicate entries are corrected
- Unauthorized residents and infiltrators are identified
- All youths turning 18 are added to the voter list
Calling the SIR exercise an essential part of a democratic system, Maurya urged officers to carry out their duties with full integrity.
BJP Targets Alleged Infiltrators
Maurya further stated that the BJP’s consistent electoral victories — including a recent strong performance in Bihar — have rattled opposition parties.
According to him, the opposition is “spreading confusion,” but the public remains unaffected.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Urges Public to Submit SIR Forms Promptly
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak also appealed to residents to fill out their SIR computation forms and submit them to the BLO or the nearest election office.
He stressed the importance of identifying illegal residents and removing such names from the electoral rolls.
Deadline Approaches — Government in Mission Mode
With the December 11 deadline fast approaching, the Yogi government is now in mission mode. The top leadership’s direct involvement signals the administration’s resolve to ensure an accurate, transparent, and updated voter list across Uttar Pradesh.
This sweeping campaign is expected to significantly impact the accuracy of electoral rolls, ahead of upcoming elections in the state and across the country.
