Two Years of Mohan Government: Madhya Pradesh Declared ‘Naxal-Free’; CM Says Message Was Clear — Surrender or Face Consequences

Ahead of completing two years in office on Saturday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced one of Madhya Pradesh’s biggest milestones — the state has been officially declared Naxal-free. This achievement comes even before the deadline set by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who had aimed to make India free from Naxalism by March 31, 2026.

In an interview to The Times of India, CM Yadav described the elimination of Naxalism as the government’s biggest accomplishment.
“We have worked in all fields, but if I must name one landmark achievement, it is the end of Naxalism — a problem that persisted for 40 years,” he said. “Those involved in bloodshed were either neutralized or they surrendered.”

Clear Message to Naxals

The Chief Minister said his government followed a firm and consistent policy:
“Either surrender and we will rehabilitate you, or be ready for our last ‘Lal Salaam’.”

He recalled that security forces have eliminated 10 dangerous Naxals this year alone.

State Fully Freed from Three Affected Districts

CM Yadav confirmed that the previously affected districts — Balaghat, Dindori and Mandla — are now completely free from Naxal influence.
He also recounted a dark chapter from 1999, when Congress transport minister Lakhiram Kawre was dragged out of his house and killed by Naxals near a police station, highlighting how deeply the problem once penetrated the region.

The state achieved full clearance after the last two Maoist cadres hiding in Balaghat — Deepak Uike and Rohit — surrendered.
In total, 42 Maoists surrendered in just 42 days across the MP–Maharashtra–Chhattisgarh belt.

Vision for 2026: Doubling Farmers’ Income

Outlining his future roadmap, the CM said his government’s main objective for 2026 is to double the income of farmers.
He asserted that this is “absolutely feasible” if production costs decrease and the area under irrigation increases.
“Improving agriculture will uplift farmers and push the entire state forward,” Yadav said.

SSimhastha Kumbh 2028 to Be a Global Spiritual Event

Regarding the Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh 2028, the CM — proudly calling himself “a son of Ujjain” — said it will be an event of global spiritual prominence.
“Kumbh is not just about taking a dip in the Kshipra. It will be a global platform to showcase Indian knowledge, traditions, yoga, Vedic sciences and culture,” he said.
