New Delhi: The controversy surrounding Delhi Assembly leader Atishi’s video continues to make headlines. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta recently made the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report public, stating that there was no tampering in the video. In response, BJP leader Kapil Mishra remarked that “truth has prevailed—milk is milk, water is water.” However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly rejected these claims.
Speaker Publishes FSL Report
The dispute stems from a recent Delhi Assembly session, where Atishi’s remarks, particularly involving the term “gurus,” became a point of contention. Speaker Vijender Gupta, addressing the issue, shared the FSL report and confirmed that the audio-video content was authentic and unaltered. He also provided the transcript of the Assembly proceedings held on January 6. Gupta noted that despite the video being sent for verification, reports emerged on January 9 that Punjab government had already investigated the video and filed an FIR. The Speaker said, “The dramatic turn of events has now been clarified—milk is milk, water is water.”
Questions Raised Over Punjab Investigation
Speaker Gupta questioned the validity of Punjab’s video investigation, asking whether a constable using an AI tool could conduct a proper forensic analysis. He suggested that a detailed examination of Punjab’s FSL report should be conducted by the CBI. He also confirmed that Atishi did use the term “guru” in her remarks.
BJP Reacts
Following the release of the FSL report, Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra said that Atishi’s actions in the Assembly have now been verified. He accused the AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of misusing Punjab Police to protect Atishi, who allegedly insulted gurus. Mishra stated, “Truth never needs proof. Today, milk is milk and water is water.”
AAP’s Response
AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bhardwaj held a press conference on Saturday morning, calling the BJP-backed FSL report “false and fabricated.” He said, “The mountains dug up by BJP turned out to be dead mice. The truth has already been established by the Jalandhar court. If they have the courage, they should present the report in court.”
The Atishi video controversy highlights the ongoing political tussle between BJP and AAP in Delhi, with both parties standing firm on their claims regarding the authenticity and implications of the video.
