
In a heartbreaking incident, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP Supremo Ajit Pawar passed away in a tragic plane crash near Baramati on Wednesday. The accident occurred while he was traveling for district panchayat election-related engagements.
According to preliminary reports, the aircraft developed a fire in its lower section moments before landing. Despite attempts at an emergency landing, the plane lost control and crashed, resulting in the death of Ajit Pawar and four others on board. The sudden tragedy has sent shockwaves across the political spectrum.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Pays Tribute
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed profound sorrow over the incident and paid tribute through a post on social media platform X.
She wrote,
“The untimely demise of Maharashtra’s Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajit Pawar ji in an unfortunate plane crash is extremely painful and deeply shocking. His passing is an irreparable loss not only to Maharashtra but to Indian politics as a whole.”
Extending condolences, she added,
“I express my deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members and supporters. May God grant peace to the departed soul and provide strength and courage to the grieving family in this hour of immense sorrow. Om Shanti.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned the loss, describing Ajit Pawar as a true leader of the masses.
The Prime Minister stated that Ajit Pawar was widely respected for his strong grassroots connect, deep understanding of administration, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the poor and marginalized sections of society.

Ajit Pawar’s sudden demise has left the nation in grief. Political leaders from across parties, social organizations, and citizens have expressed condolences, remembering him as a decisive administrator and a prominent figure in Maharashtra politics.
The government has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.
