Tejashwi and Sudhakar Poised to Replace Lalu and Jagdanand in RJD; Party Prepares for Organizational Overhaul

Bihar Politics: Following a resounding defeat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is gearing up for a major internal restructuring. It is believed that party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav may hand over the reins of organizational “tuning” to the new leadership duo of Tejashwi Yadav and Sudhakar Singh, replacing the long-standing pairing of Lalu and Jagdanand Singh.

A New Dynamic Emerges
Patna: After RJD’s crushing defeat, the party is preparing for significant changes. Tejashwi Yadav is reportedly planning to place the organization under careful supervision while ensuring a coordinated approach with the newly formed committees. Several decisive measures are expected, aimed at reducing internal tensions and mistrust, as well as resolving family-level disagreements within the party.

First Signals in Post-Return Review Meeting
After returning from abroad, Tejashwi Yadav held a critical review meeting that hinted at a new power dynamic. While the meeting was under his leadership, the briefing was conducted by Buxar MP Sudhakar Singh. This signaled that the next generation—Tejashwi Yadav and Sudhakar Singh—could emulate the strong foundation once built by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagdanand Singh, and guide RJD out of its current political turbulence. Sudhakar Singh may also be entrusted with significant responsibilities.

State Leadership to Be Revamped
Focusing on strengthening the organization with a balance of experience and youth, Tejashwi Yadav is expected to revamp the state leadership. Senior leaders may be placed in advisory committees, while the new state team will include younger leaders. In addition to maintaining representation from the Kurmi and Vaishya communities, the revised structure will also ensure inclusion of upper-caste, Dalit, and extremely backward communities in the party organization.

Party Office to Become a Hub of Discipline
Ahead of the upcoming elections, Tejashwi Yadav plans to instill discipline among party workers by spending more time at the party office and personally engaging with workers. He will set dedicated times to interact with each cadre to track grassroots developments and party activities across Bihar. In his absence from the capital, designated officials will carry out these duties.

Strict Action Against Betrayal
While loyal party workers are set to be rewarded, stringent action will be taken against internal traitors. A preliminary list of suspected disloyal members has already been prepared. They will be given a chance to present their case, but proven betrayal will result in expulsion from the party.
