Mumbai, February 3:
Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Pankaja Munde narrowly escaped a potential aviation mishap when a technical fault was detected in her helicopter before take-off. Munde was scheduled to fly from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Latur to campaign for the district council elections.
Officials reported that the pilot identified the issue prior to departure, preventing any accident. As a result, Munde had to cancel her helicopter journey and reschedule her campaign events in Latur. Details about the exact nature of the technical fault are yet to be disclosed.
Pankaja Munde has been actively campaigning for the district council elections, holding meetings across various constituencies in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, including Bajajnagar and Daulatabad.
The incident comes just days after former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar tragically died in a plane crash on January 28 while campaigning for the district and panchayat elections in Baramati. Ajit Pawar’s funeral on January 29 drew large crowds, and his wife, Sunetra Pawar, has since been appointed Deputy Chief Minister, overseeing the Excise, Sports, and Minority Development portfolios.
