SP MP Rajeev Rai Criticizes Bengaluru Traffic Police, Calls Out Karnataka CM

Mau, UP: Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai expressed his frustration over Bengaluru’s infamous traffic jams, targeting both the city’s traffic police and the Karnataka government. In a social media post on Monday, the Rajya Sabha MP shared his experience of being stuck for over an hour on Rajkumar Samadhi Road while trying to reach the airport for a flight.

Direct Accusations Against Traffic Authorities

Rai, who was en route to attend a parliamentary session, said the traffic jam completely disrupted his schedule. Addressing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he wrote: “Sir, I regret to say that you have the worst traffic management and the most irresponsible, inefficient traffic police.”

The MP further claimed that despite repeated attempts to contact traffic officials, no one responded to his calls. Alongside his post, Rai shared screenshots of the call attempts to highlight the lack of communication.

Police Absence on the Roads

Rai noted that there were no visible police personnel at the jammed locations, stating that the officers’ negligence tarnishes the reputation of this otherwise beautiful city. He described Bengaluru’s traffic as the worst in the country, asserting that it has now gained nationwide notoriety.

Social Media Reaction

Rai tagged the Chief Minister, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, and Joint Police Commissioner in his post. Social media reactions were mixed: while many supported his criticism of the city’s worsening traffic, some questioned the tone of his remarks. As of now, neither the Bengaluru Traffic Police nor the Karnataka government has issued an official response.
