A State Shaken by Tragedy
The shocking news of Ajit Pawar’s demise sent waves of grief across Maharashtra on Wednesday morning. Fondly known as ‘Dada,’ Pawar was a highly influential figure in state politics, recognized for his administrative acumen, candid speeches, and pivotal role in shaping Maharashtra’s political landscape.
Eyewitnesses Describe the Horror
Local witnesses at the scene recounted the terrifying moments leading up to the crash. One eyewitness said:
“I saw everything with my own eyes. It was extremely painful. As the plane descended, it looked like it would crash—and it did. We thought the aircraft was doomed.”
Another onlooker added:
“The plane was barely 100 meters from the runway. It seemed it would land safely, but suddenly it crashed. There was a massive explosion, followed by flames. The plane exploded four or five more times. People tried to rescue anyone inside, but the fire was too intense. No one could be saved.”
Shock and Sorrow
Witnesses initially did not know that Ajit Pawar was on board. Upon learning this, one said,
“The ground seemed to disappear beneath our feet. It was deeply painful, impossible to describe in words.”
Another eyewitness shared:
“We were some distance away when we heard a loud blast. Smoke and flames were visible from afar. It was immediately clear that no one could have survived. The plane was reduced to ashes in moments. Ambulances arrived to recover the severely damaged bodies. The crash was so devastating that everyone on board had died instantly.”
The horrific crash has left Maharashtra in mourning, as citizens and political leaders alike grapple with the loss of one of the state’s most prominent leaders.
