Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan: Dr. Satish Poonia, Haryana BJP in-charge, made a significant statement during his visit to Sri Ganganagar on Friday, targeting Congress over the ongoing ethanol factory controversy and questioning the political maturity of its leaders.
Welcomed warmly by BJP workers at the Sri Ganganagar railway station, Poonia praised the local populace for their simplicity and cordial nature, saying it is one of the reasons he frequently visits the city.
Congress Held Responsible for Ethanol Factory Dispute
Addressing the controversy over the proposed ethanol factory in the Tibbi area of Hanumangarh, Poonia stated that the entire issue is a result of the flawed policies and decisions of the Congress government. He emphasized that the BJP inherited the problem but assured citizens that dialogue with all stakeholders would lead to a mutually agreeable solution.
Attack on Congress Leadership
Poonia sharply criticized Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, labeling the party as directionless and prone to shifting blame. He claimed that Congress has been losing public trust due to its inconsistent approach.
Remarks on Rahul Gandhi’s Statements
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on national issues, Poonia said the Congress leader should demonstrate political maturity before commenting on constitutional institutions. He added that such statements risk harming India’s image internationally.
Comments on Cabinet Expansion
Asked about the Rajasthan cabinet expansion, Poonia dismissed speculation, stating that official announcements would follow party leadership and central directives. He noted that several important organizational and governance priorities remain to be addressed first.
SIR Campaign Praised
Poonia also lauded the SIR (Systematic Identification of Voters) campaign, calling it a step toward strengthening democracy by ensuring clean and transparent voter lists, eliminating duplications, and fortifying the electoral process.
