Sanjay Saraogi to Assume Charge as Bihar BJP President Today in Patna

Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar is set for a significant organizational transition as Sanjay Saraogi formally takes charge as the party’s new State President on Thursday at the BJP state headquarters in Patna.

The official handover of responsibilities will be carried out by the outgoing state president Dilip Jaiswal in the presence of several senior party leaders. Notably, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with a large number of party functionaries and workers, are expected to attend the ceremony. According to party sources, Saraogi will assume charge at around 12:30 pm.

Spiritual Beginning Ahead of Political Responsibility

Ahead of taking over the new responsibility, Sanjay Saraogi offered prayers on Wednesday at the revered Baba Hazarinath Temple in Darbhanga’s Bara Bazaar area. Praying for peace, prosperity, and organizational growth in Bihar, he sought divine blessings to continue on the path of public service with dedication and strength.

“I pray for the wisdom and capability to serve the people selflessly and to strengthen the organization,” Saraogi said after the temple visit.

A Full-Time State President Amid Organizational Restructuring

The BJP officially announced Saraogi’s appointment on December 15, describing him as the party’s new full-time State President in Bihar. The announcement was made through an official letter issued by Arun Singh, BJP National General Secretary and Headquarters In-Charge.

A six-time MLA from Darbhanga Sadar and a prominent leader of the Vaishya community, Saraogi has been entrusted with this crucial organizational role at a time when the BJP is implementing major internal restructuring to strengthen its grassroots presence ahead of future political challenges.

Part of a Broader Leadership Transition

Saraogi’s elevation is part of a wider leadership reshuffle within the party. Earlier, on December 14, BJP appointed Nitin Nabin, MLA from Bankipur and a minister in the Bihar government, as National Executive President of the party.

The Bihar BJP, in a post on social media platform X, confirmed that elaborate preparations were made for Saraogi’s charge-taking ceremony, with Vinod Tawde and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary personally reviewing the arrangements.

With Sanjay Saraogi at the helm, the Bihar BJP is expected to enter a new phase of organizational consolidation and strategic planning, aimed at strengthening the party’s position across the state.
